Scrollfee
AI photo verification
The consent text the Scrollfee app shows before your first photo task.
Version 1, effective October 13, 2026
When it is used
Three Scrollfee tasks use a photo: photo proof (a finished chore, with a short description you write), going outside and reading (a photo of the page after the reading time). All other tasks, such as exercise, steps, breathing and a friend’s OK, never use this check.
What happens to the photo
You take the photo with the camera inside Scrollfee; it is not saved to your photo library. The app sends a reduced copy without location or other metadata to our server, which processes it in memory and forwards it to Google’s Gemini API together with the task type and, for photo proof, your short description. Gemini answers whether the photo shows the task.
We use Google’s paid Gemini API with interaction storage turned off. Under Google’s terms for paid services, Google does not use the photo to improve its products and may keep it for a limited time only to detect abuse. Google chooses where the request is processed, which may be outside your country and outside the EU.
What is kept
- The result, linked to your account until you delete it: approved, rejected or unsure, a confidence score, a reason code (for example “task visible” or “photo of a screen”), the task type, the AI model and the time.
- A one-way fingerprint of the photo for 24 hours, so the same photo cannot be used again in that time. It cannot be turned back into the photo.
- The short description of what the AI saw is returned once with the result and is never stored.
- The photo itself is not stored anywhere: not on our servers, not in our logs, not in backups and not on your iPhone.
Your choice
Consent is optional and only needed for photo tasks. If you choose Not now, photo tasks are hidden and everything else in Scrollfee works as usual. AI photo verification is only for people aged 18 or older, as Google’s Gemini API terms require. Before your first photo task the app asks once for your birth month and year; only the month and year are stored (no full date of birth and no country), to check this requirement. If you are under 18, photo tasks are not available to you and all other tasks work as usual. The declaration cannot be changed in the app afterwards; to correct it, contact info@odbs.tech.
Withdrawing consent
Turn off AI photo check under Unlock tasks on Scrollfee’s home screen at any time. From then on no photos are sent and photo tasks are hidden until you allow it again. Results already stored stay with your account until you delete it. We keep a record of when you gave or withdrew consent, which version and in which language, as proof of your choice; after account deletion it is kept without your IP address or device.
Legal basis and changes
The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and the corresponding laws where you live). If we change what you agree to, we publish a new version and ask you again before your next photo task. More about your data and your rights is in the privacy policy.
